Governance

Board Level

The Board should take full responsibility for the embedding carbon reduction and sustainability into all policies and practices and undertaken by the organisation.

The Board's responsibilities includes the approval of a Sustainable Development Management Plan, with additional action plans to cover Carbon Reduction, Green Travel and Sustainable Procurement (among others). Updates on carbon reduction and sustainability should be included on all Board agendas, with feedback from and suggestions made to the organisation’s sustainability lead and/or carbon reduction manager.

A draft template for a Sustainability Development Management Plan has been developed for all Trusts to use.
